Our commitment to charitable causes
February 9, 2018
Our ethic as a training provider is to equip our learners with not only the practical skills but the core values of initiative and insight in helping those in need and enabling them to carry out their roles with care and competence. We believe that has to start with us and as such we have an ongoing commitment to support charitable causes however and wherever we can. That has been built into our company since Day One.
Here are some of the charities we were proud to support in 2017 and hope to continue to support throughout 2018 and beyond.
As ever we were on board with Children in Need and got into the swing of things by baking a selection of delicious treats and selling them on Stockton High Street all while dressed up as Pudsey himself with all funds raised being sent directly to Children in Need. The BBC’s flagship charity first began in 1927 and to date has raised over £800million in order to help disadvantaged children across the UK.
North East Ladies Day is another event we are proud to continually represent and attend. Beginning over 35 years ago the NELD was started to bring ladies across the region together and to raise substantial money for deserving local causes and that is a mission it has truly accomplished by to date raising almost £300,000 for charities in the region. In 2017 we were proud to attend the event which saw Butterfly Giving and Family Help Darlington CIO both receive £10,000 each. We look forward to the 2018 events held by NELD which will be in support of JPC Community Farm, Neoangels, and We Can Dance.
JPC Community Farm is a cause close to our hearts. This will support 18 young adults with special and complex needs to have their own front door. The farm is set in 23.5 Acres at Busby near Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The charity’s work will enable young adults to thrive and gain independence within the safe environment of the farm. Getting each independent living home ready as soon as possible is the main focus with a huge range of facilities planned. We look forward to attending future events and working with the JPC Community Farm in the future.
We held a drive for food, children’s toys and shoebox essentials at JD Training in a Christmas Collection with the intention of helping those in the region who are most at need during the festive period and were proud with the success we had but also upset that such efforts were needed so close to home. One of our trainers Simon is actively involved with Billingham Food Bank so this was done in association as he hand delivered the collection.
We would like to wish all the charities we have supported continued success and are excited for what the future holds and the opportunities you will be creating.
