This training is designed to give candidates an appreciation of the basic principles and practices associated with safe food handling and preparation through the prevention of contamination and poisoning. This course is suitable for all staff involved in substantial food preparation, handling, and storage.

An accredited version of this training in accordance with Qualsafe regulations is also available. Please contact for further information.

Due to the government regulations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing a maximum of 8 people per course. We can arrange for a combination of Virtual Learning and Practical Training, as well as allowing you to book out the centre for your group, or arrange for us to come to you. Course Contents

  • Understand the terminology of food safety
  • Understand the laws that apply to food safety and describe generally the requirements of regulations
  • Appreciate the concept of food hazards and how the risk of food contamination can be contained
  • Appreciate the role of refrigeration, safe food storage, cleaning and disinfection
  • Recognise the relationship between food hygiene and the structure and equipment of food premises
