Overview

This training aims to develop an awareness of safeguarding and to ensure participants understand their role and responsibilities in the safeguarding process. This training builds on the core social care values of dignity, respect and rights in the work we undertake with service users, including adults, young people and infants.

Course Contents

  • To promote and embed the approach to safeguarding
  • To identify and define abuse
  • To recognise indicators of abuse
  • For staff to understand their role and their responsibilities in the safeguarding process
  • To know how to report a concern or disclosure of abuse
  • To understand the role and responsibilities of other agencies in the protection of adults and children
  • To have an awareness of safe working practises
