Over 800,000 people worldwide have lost their lives to suicide. There are many reasons as to why; genetic, psychological, social and cultural, as well as well other risk factors. These are sometimes combined with experiences of trauma and loss.

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness on suicide prevention, which could ultimately save thousands of lives. Their theme this year is “Working Together to Prevent Suicide”, citing collaboration as the best way to prevent suicide. By working together worldwide, a real difference could be made.

JD Training is offering a course this September for Mental Health First Aid, providing the tools you need to make a difference and potentially save a life. The Mental Health First Aid course is essential in helping those who are struggling and opening up conversations and letting people know it’s okay to not be okay. It reduces the stigma surrounding mental health, whilst also boosting knowledge and confidence in those being help with mental health issues.
